There was X'mas Market held opposite the Midland Hotel in Manchester, UK.
Xmas Market offering shoppers a chance to enjoy a day out with unique Christmas gifts, beers, sausages and so on.....
For a truly festive experience, must get into the Christmas spirit whilst browsing around the bustling stalls, soaking up the unique atmosphere beneath the twinkling lights with the aroma of hot chestnuts filling the air or a cup of Eierpunsch (an egg-based warm alcoholic drink).
X'mas markets originated in Germany and Austria but are now being held in Manchester and many other countries, mainly the four weeks preceding Christmas Day.
For many visitors one of the highlights of the market: Glühwein, hot mulled wine (usually red, combined with spices and typically served warm). In the old times, wine often went bad. By adding spices and honey, it could be made drinkable again. Nowadays, it is a traditional drink during winter, especially around X'mas.
Many other handmade items, traditional ginger bread, books, X'mas tree decorations and ornaments (and in recent years less useful gadgets) can be found here.
